If you already live in Cursor or Claude Code, you do not want a CMS that makes you click 40 times to change a headline.
You want to mint a token and say what the page should be.
That is Forma.
What Forma is
PHP + one SQLite file. Dark admin. Pages, posts, snippets, uploads, SEO, a search index, an HTML cache Apache can serve if PHP dies.
And an Agent API: Authorization: Bearer fx_… (or X-Forma-Token on DreamHost). Scopes for content, media, settings, backup, podcast.
You install it yourself, or we host it. alta-forma.com runs on it. So do the starter sites we sell.
The point is portability. One database file you can copy. No MySQL ritual. No “which PHP version does this plugin need.” DreamHost shared hosting is enough. So is a $5 VPS. So is a folder you rsync.
The loop
- Open Settings → Access. Create a token. Copy it once.
- Point Cursor MCP or
curlathttps://your-domain.com/api/v1/help. - Tell the agent: rewrite the homepage, add a post, upload a photo, change SEO.
- It writes SQLite. The public page updates. The HTML cache rebuilds.
No FTP dance. No “paste into WordPress.” No SSH theater unless you want it.
GET /api/v1/help is the manual. Scopes, endpoints, SEO field names, how pages differ from posts. Agents are supposed to read that first. Humans can too.

Why this is the CMS for Cursor people
Other CMSs were designed for a person in a browser. Forma was designed for a person and an agent.
You still get /admin — dark, fast, not cute. You can type. You can also refuse to type. Mint a token, put it in Cursor’s MCP config, and describe the page. The page happens.
Snippets are building blocks ([[shortcode]]), not a second sitemap. Posts are Markdown with real published_at. Unpublished means 404, on purpose. Media is /uploads. SEO is fields, not a $400 plugin.
If you have ever watched an LLM dump a WordPress XML import and then spent an afternoon installing five plugins to make the dump render, you already understand the pitch.
Why we want this to make money
The CMS core is free. We want people who already pay for Cursor to run Forma.
Podcast unlock is $39. Client sites we host: $499 setup + $49/mo. Self-host and you only buy unlocks.
alta-forma.com is the proof. This journal is the proof. The starter sites we sell in Oklahoma are the proof. We are not demoing a CMS we do not sleep on.
If you are fluent in Claude Code, Forma is the CMS that does not insult you.
What it is not
It is not a page builder for people who will never open a terminal. Those customers still get a Forma site — we drive it. You can still log into /admin and edit.
It is not WordPress. On purpose. We wrote that down.
It is not a hosted SaaS with a usage meter. You can run it. We can run it. Those are different invoices.
